For those wishing to travel outside the U.S., you will need to file an application for advance parole. This includes submitting Form I-131 to the USCIS and providing proof of your reason to travel outside the country (such as pursuing education or work-related opportunities, visiting family, or participating in humanitarian efforts). After you submit this application, it may take several weeks for it to be processed. If you are approved, you will receive an Advance Parole document, which you will need to carry with you during your travels.
